Kandal Provincial Authorities Unveil Ambitious Plan to Transform Phnom Preah Reach Traop Resort Area into Public Park

Kandal province is set to undergo a significant transformation as local authorities announce plans to develop the Phnom Preah Reach Traop Resort Area into a vibrant public park and green space. The initiative, expected to roll out in 2026, will also enhance the surrounding roads within the Phnom Preah Reach Traop Resort Area, aimed at improving accessibility for both tourists and local residents.

Governor HE Kuoch Chamroeun led a team of experts and district officials on 4 June 2025 to inspect the existing infrastructure and outline the details of this ambitious improvement project. During the visit, he emphasised the importance of the historic resort area, noting that enhancing infrastructure will not only facilitate easier travel for visitors but will also support the hosting of major national festivals in the region.

“The Phnom Preah Reach Traop Resort Area is not just a historical site; it represents a cultural gem that deserves our attention and investment,” HE Kuoch Chamroeun remarked. “We aim to create an interconnected infrastructure that not only supports tourism but also beautifies the area with diverse greenery and provides welcoming spaces for our citizens.”

In addition to the improvements, the Kandal provincial administration is committed to establishing public parks and green zones for community enjoyment, ensuring that the development benefits both residents and visitors alike.

This initiative reflects Kandal province’s dedication to enhancing its cultural heritage while promoting a sustainable and enjoyable environment for future generations.
