Phnom Penh Municipality to upgrade walkway along Mao Tse Toung Blvd

Phnom Penh Municipality has recently announced a plan to upgrade the walkway along Mao Tse Toung, passing through Toul Kork, Boeung Keng Kang, and Chamkarmon district.

The announcement was made during a meeting between Phnom Penh Governor H.E Khuong Sreng and related officers regarding the feasibility study of this project on 21 February 2020.

During the meeting, H.E Khuong Sreng said the Department of land management Urban Planning and Construction, Department of Public Works and Transport of Phnom, and Phnom Penh Municipality, will work closely to conduct the study of the locations. This is to ensure that Mao Tse Toung Boulevard will be transformed into a new boulevard with the new sidewalk.

Mao Tse Tung Boulevard is one of the busiest roads in Phnom Penh and is highly congested. Phnom Penh Municipality has thus far been building additional infrastructures to help ease congestion. One example is the construction of a pedestrian footbridge at the Psar Dumkor market intersection, which is currently 85% complete.
