Psar Dey Hoi Flyover Officially Inaugurated

Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen presided over the inauguration ceremony and official opening of the Cambodia-China Sen Sok Friendship Overpass Bridge or Psar Dey Hoi Flyover on the morning of 2 July.

Construction on the $17.5 million bridge was completed in May, and marked the fifth such flyover to be built in the capital. Stretching 942 metres long and 16.5 metres wide, the Asphalt Concrete (AC) bridge, passes over the Psar Dey Hoi junction on Russian Blvd. Constructed by Chinese firm Shanghai Construction Group Co., Ltd and the Guangzhou Wanan Construction Supervision Co., Ltd, the bridge has taken a total of 24 months to complete.

The flyover was built using shared funds between the government of China and the Cambodian government budget.

“This is the fifth overpass and also the longest overpass in Phnom Penh Capital. It will help ease the traffic congestion a lot on the Psar Dey Hoi junction as Russian Blvd is one of the main roads where people commute in and out from Phnom Penh City,” said Samdech PM Hun Sen during the ceremony.

The capital also plans to welcome its sixth flyover, which will be located in the Chom Chao area in the next two and a half years after ground was broken for the construction last week by PM Samdech Hun Sen as well. (Read more)
