Psar Dey Hoi Flyover Reopens for Public

The flyover near Dey Hoi Market along Russian Boulevard reopened for public use on 10 May 10 2018 following the final completion of construction, according to an announcement by Ministry of Public Works and Transport.

The bridge was temporarily opened to the public during Khmer New Year, between 12-17 April, but was closed again afterwards to complete construction, which led to public controversy over the past few weeks for the inconvenience.

“Hopefully, starting from today, 10 May, the bridge is officially open with no more closures as the construction is fully complete,” said Phnom Penh Municipal spokesman Met Measpheakdey.

The opening also allows city buses to cross for the purpose of easing traffic congestion along Russian Boulevard.

The flyover is the fifth such bridge built in Phnom Penh. Construction started in August 2016 on the 905-metre long and 16.5-metre wide conduit.
