Transformative Infrastructure Initiatives Propelling Southwest Cambodia towards Logistics Hub Status

Prime Minister Samdech Hun Manet of Cambodia has emphasised that the implementation of significant infrastructure projects, including the Funan Techo Canal and Techo International Airport, will elevate the southwestern region of the country to a pivotal logistics hub.

Prime Minister Hun Manet articulated these views while inspecting the ongoing development of the US$1.5 billion 4F-class airport in Kandal and Takeo provinces on 12 March.

Speaking on the occasion, Hun Manet highlighted, The infrastructure, encompassing roads, waterways, and air transport, which we are currently constructing and planning for the near future, will unlock vast potential for our southwest area.”

Among the infrastructure endeavours referenced by Samdech Hun Manet are the 3rd Ring Road, National Road 1, National Road 2, Techo International Airport, and the Funan Techo Canal Project.

The Prime Minister expressed optimism that with the commencement of major infrastructure undertakings such as the international airport and the Funan Techo Canal project, the country will witness a surge in investment ventures. These initiatives are expected to attract special economic zones and industrial facilities that will capitalise on the robust logistics network comprising roads, waterways, airports, and railways.
