National Children’s Hospital Launches New Modern Maternity Ward to Boost Healthcare for Mothers and Children

The National Children’s Hospital officially inaugurated its new modern maternity ward on the morning of 20 April 2023 under the presidency of Prime Minister Hun Sen.

The new 4-story building, equipped with advanced medical equipment and digital systems, will play a crucial role in improving the health and well-being of mothers and children.

In his speech, the PM praised the hospital’s efforts and highlighted the importance of providing efficient and high-quality medical services to the people. He urged the doctors to continue to work hard to strengthen their professional ethics and technical capacity to better serve the community.

The new building, constructed at the expense of the government, spans 15 meters wide and 60 meters long, and can accommodate approximately 100 beds. The construction began in February 2021 and was completed in September 2022. With the help of the Czech Republic, the hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment, providing essential services such as pediatric consulting, antenatal check-ups, immunizations for children, as well as care for gynecologists, obstetricians, and women with various postpartum problems.

The launch of the new maternity ward is a significant step forward in the healthcare sector of Cambodia, especially for mothers and children. The National Children’s Hospital will now be able to offer top-notch medical services and accommodate more patients than ever before, ensuring that more families receive the best healthcare possible.
