NRNo. 31 (Bek Kus – Kampot) Rehabilitation with 53km in Length Nears Completion, Achieving Almost 99% Progress

The extensive rehabilitation of Cambodia’s NR No. 31, covering a 53.54-km stretch from Bek Kus to Kampong Trach, is almost complete, reaching a 98.68% progress milestone as of 21 October 2024.

This update was shared during a review meeting led by His Excellency Khan Ma Ne, Secretary of State and Director of the Rehabilitation and Upgrading Project, who praised the project’s steady advancement and confirmed its early completion, meeting high technical standards, as reported on 21 October 2024.

NR No. 31 spans 53.54km from the Bek Kus intersection with NR No. 3 through Kampong Trach district town, where it links to NR No. 33, forming a vital infrastructure corridor for the coastal region.

Since construction commenced on 30 December 2022, notable progress includes the full installation of two layers of AC rubber and the near completion of essential traffic safety installations, including traffic signs, road markings, and guide rails.

HE Khan Ma Me highlighted that completing the project ahead of schedule demonstrates the effectiveness of planning and execution efforts, reflecting a strong commitment to maintaining national infrastructure to the highest standards. With only final safety equipment installations remaining, NR No. 31 is on track to open and significantly improve connectivity within the region.
