Cambodia’s Robust Trade Performance: Exceeding US$8bn in Two Months, Marking Nearly 20% Growth

In the initial two months of 2024, Cambodia’s international trade volume surged to over US$8 billion, registering a notable increase of nearly 20% compared to the corresponding period in 2023, as per the provisional report from the General Department of Customs and Excise of Cambodia.

The report reveals that from January to February, Cambodia’s exports to major countries surpassed US$3.9 billion, marking an impressive growth of over 22% from the previous year. Meanwhile, imports totalled more than US$4.1 billion, indicating a substantial rise of 16.1%.

Leading the list of Cambodia’s key trading partners are China, followed closely by Vietnam and the United States, with trade valued at US$2.1 billion, showcasing a remarkable 29% increase compared to the same period in 2023.

Furthermore, exports of garments and cloth-related accessories witnessed significant growth, surging by US$842,411, representing a notable increase of 24.5% from the corresponding period in 2023.
