UK Firm Eyes Investment Opportunities in Cambodia

In a significant development for Cambodia’s investment landscape, UK-based Bridgemount Ltd. has announced plans to explore investment opportunities in key sectors within the Kingdom. The company officially met with the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) on 7 February 2025, marking the start of what could be a fruitful partnership.

During the meeting, Kalyan Ghosh, Managing Director of Bridgemount Ltd., articulated the company’s vision, emphasising the potential for growth in Cambodia’s vibrant market. The discussions primarily revolved around financing development projects, focusing on the feasibility of forming partnerships with local investors in critical areas such as infrastructure, healthcare, trade, agriculture, solar energy, industry, and waste management.

HE Suon Sophal, Deputy Secretary General of the Investment Committee of Cambodia, expressed his strong support for Bridgemount’s initiative. He highlighted the advantageous investment climate in Cambodia and informed the delegation about the range of incentives available under the Investment Law to attract foreign capital. He also encouraged the company to engage further with relevant ministries to evaluate their investment projects comprehensively.

This move is pivotal as Cambodia seeks to reform its investment policies to enhance its appeal to foreign investors. Amid global economic uncertainties and trade tensions, Bridgemount’s interest underscores Cambodia’s growing status as a competitive investment destination. (Read more)
