After signing an agreement with Marriott International in May last year, the Royal Field Development Company Limited, a subsidiary of Chip Mong Group, has set August as the ground breaking date for the first Fairfield by Marriott hotel to be built in Cambodia.

“At this stage, we are finalising the architecture of the building. After we are done with that, we will start construction by August or September,” Mr Ken Nhan, Director of New Business Development of Chip Mong Group Co., Ltd. told Construction & Property Magazine.

Regarding the level of investment for this international brand hotel, Mr Nhan revealed that the group had prepared an estimated budget of about USD100 million for the project. However, he stressed that the total amount had not yet been finalised.

Located on a prime section of Russian Boulevard near the 5 January flyover in the heart of Phnom Penh City, Fairfield by Marriott Phnom Penh is the first time the brand has launched in Cambodia and the facility is expected to open in 2021.
