The Gov’t announces the sale of Cambodia’s First Sports Village to Hit the Real Estate Market Post-Paralympic Games

PM Hun Sen has made an exciting announcement regarding the upcoming sale of Cambodia’s inaugural sports village following the conclusion of the highly anticipated SEA Games and Para Games. This revelation was shared during the momentous groundbreaking ceremonies for the Phnom Penh-Bavet Expressway and the bridge spanning the majestic Mekong River on June 7, 2023.

PM Hun Sen confirmed that the proceeds from the sale of the sports village will be utilized to cover the expenses incurred during the SEA Games and Para Games, underscoring the government’s commitment to ensuring a successful and financially viable sporting event.

Moreover, he highlighted that if Cambodia has the privilege of hosting future SEA Games, a new location will be chosen to construct another state-of-the-art sports village, continuing the nation’s legacy of exceptional sports infrastructure.

Notably, the sports village designed for the 2023 SEA Games was officially inaugurated on April 20, 2023, marking a significant milestone in Cambodia’s sporting history.

This exceptional facility boasts over 5,000 well-appointed beds, providing a welcoming haven for sports delegates who will reside within its premises during the games. With a capacity to accommodate between 2,000 to over 5,000 individuals on a daily basis, especially during the grand opening ceremony, the sports village will be home to more than 5,000 residents throughout the duration of the SEA Games.
