Gov’t Breaks Ground on State-of-the-Art Blood Bank at 16 Makara Referral Hospital in Preah Vihear Province

In a significant stride towards enhancing healthcare infrastructure, the Preah Vihear Provincial Administration has initiated the construction of a cutting-edge blood bank at the 16 January Referral Hospital. The groundbreaking ceremony, documented on the official Facebook page of the Preah Vihear Provincial Administration on 5 February 2024, marks a crucial milestone for the province’s healthcare landscape.

The visionary project, detailed in the report by the director of the Preah Vihear Provincial Health Department, outlines plans for an 8-metre x 16-metre blood bank building, slated for completion in early May 2024. The facility is strategically designed to meet the region’s growing demand for a centralized and efficient blood storage system.

The financial backing for the construction of the blood bank is being provided directly by HE Kim Rithy, Governor of Preah Vihear Province, demonstrating the government’s commitment to investing in critical healthcare facilities.

As the new blood bank takes shape, it heralds a new era for the 16 January Referral Hospital, poised to significantly enhance emergency response capabilities and contribute to the overall health and safety of the province’s residents.
