Ministry of Justice to Launch Commercial Court in 2023

The Ministry of Justice plans to launch Cambodia’s first commercial court in 2023 to resolve trade disputes and to build confidence for both local and foreign investors in Cambodia.

The Ministry of Justice, in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank in Cambodia, organised a symposium on “Establishment of the Cambodian Commercial Courts” on 29 November with the participation of government and private sector officials.

The Ministry of Justice will launch the commercial court in 2023, said Lim Heng, Vice President of the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce, who attended the symposium.

“After the establishment of the Cambodian Commercial Court, it will increase the confidence of investors who come to invest in Cambodia as well as local investors to invest,” Lim Heng said on Tuesday.

He said the commercial court is also a tool to attract further foreign investment to Cambodia.
