The private sector selects three key measures to contribute to the development of the automotive industry in Cambodia

The private sector has selected three of the top 20 priority measures to contribute to developing Cambodia’s automotive and electronics industry.

This is according to the press release on the results of the second meeting of the Advisory Council for the Development of Automotive and Electronics Sector, chaired by the Council for the Development of Cambodia on October 10, 2024.

The meeting was attended by 100 government leaders, the private sector, and stakeholders, and it had four main objectives: 1. Meeting of the Advisory Council for the Development of Automotive and Electronics Sector; Prioritize the measures outlined in the roadmap, discuss the current situation and challenges in the automotive and electronics sectors, and the private sector’s contribution to the development of both industries and fourth, determine the direction of further work.

As a result of the above meeting, through the survey on the re-prioritization of the 20 measures by the private sector, three measures were selected as priority measures: 1) – Workforce Skills Improvement Program by cooperating with the private sector 2) – Simplify export-import procedures and 3) – Review electricity tariff targets and supply stability.

At the same time, the private sector has also shown great interest in cooperating with the Royal Government to simplify export-import procedures and plan to attract foreign workers, migrants, and expatriates. High skills and talents in both fields.

For the next direction, the Advisory Council for the Development of the Automotive and Electronics Sector will hold its third meeting in the next six months.
