Up to 150K land titles in Siam Reap issued to date

In the last five-year period from 2018 to early 2023, more than 48 476 plots of land were systematically registered for the people in 6 different districts of Siam Reap province, and since the implementation started in 2004, the provincial authorities have registered 150k titles.

Addressing at a March 30 press conference on the province’s achievements in the past five years, provincial governor Tea Seiha noted that since Cambodia has implemented registration, more than 152 291 titles out of 167 villages have been recognized for registration, issued 81 644 plots out of 87villages, ongoing 70 647 titles. The pending dues to the borderline between regions 1 and 2 of Tonle Sap Authority have not been determined clearly yet, as well as there are a few cases of complaints, which have not been resolved after the announcement.

As for economic land concessions (ELCs), H.E. Seiha said that the provincial authority has registered land for 150 families in Khun Ream commune, Banteay Srei district. Among all, a total of 75 families of residents live in an area affected by the construction of infrastructure.

H.E. added that for the land management and urban planning sector, the provincial department has successfully completed the land-use planning of Siem Reap City Vision 2035 and is scheduled to be completed in 2023 in two more districts.
