World’s first space hotel to launch by 2025

The Gateway Foundation has announced plans to launch the world’s first space hotel by 2025, which will initially be able to accommodate up to 400 Astro-tourists.

According to The Sun, this project is known as the Von Braun Space Station, which use the same technology as on the International Space Station (ISS).

When complete, this project will be the first commercial spaceport in history, which will operate as an orbiting cruise ship with luxury accommodation, restaurants, bars, musical concerts, movie screenings, and educational seminars.

The proposed space hotel will be a 190-meter-diameter wheel shape that rotates and creates artificial gravity so that guests can walk around as if they were on earth.

The concept of this station was taken from renowned NASA scientist Wernher von Braun, who used to be a top Nazi rocket scientist during World War II.

Comprising of 24 individual rooms, the hotel is expected to be able to accommodate up to 100 tourists per trip when it launches in 2025.

The designer of the project, Tim Alatorre, has expressed his optimism that this spaceport will be a unique never-before experience for humankind.

“Eventually, going to space will just be another option people will pick for their vacation, just like going on a cruise or going to Disney World,” said Alatorre in an interview with the Dezeen.

“If the Von Braun Space Station is going well, the Gateway Foundation also plans to expand the project to accommodate up to 1,400 people,” he added.

Based in the United States, the Gateway Foundation was formed to develop a robust space construction industry, the first artificial gravity space station, and finally the Gateway.
