MPWT Establishes New Laboratory Centre to Strengthen Local Engineering Capability

Minister of Public Works and Transport HE Sun Chanthol this morning broke ground on a new laboratory centre building within the Techo Sen Institute of Public Works and Transport.

The project costs US$580,000, co-funded by the South Korean Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport; the Korea Expressway Corporation; and Korea’s Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology.

The laboratory building has two floors and consists of different sectors including an asphalt test lab, concrete test lab, curing room, storage room, and administration office.

The construction will take 7 months to complete or is scheduled to be completed by the end of March 2022.

HE Sun Chanthol said that this project will help increase the efficiency of infrastructure construction in Cambodia through assistance from the South Korean partners by strengthening the management system, expert training, as well as technical equipment support.
