10 Speed Cameras Along NR3 Begin Operation

Ten speed cameras along NR3 have been put into use to monitor and protect the safety of people driving on the road, according to a senior official of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT).

During the site inspection on 15 December, Secretary of State of MPWT HE Kan Manae said this is the test operation before the actual inauguration to be held in March 2022 on NR3.

“Given the latest technology, these speed cameras allow officers to know the speed of the car, colour, type, license plate, and also whether or not the driver is wearing a seatbelt or using their phones while driving,” said HE Kan Manae.

The ten speed cameras were installed in August and completed in November. There are four of them from Choam Chao to Bek Kous, while six others are located between Bek Kous to Kampot.

NR3 and these cameras will be officially inaugurated in March 2022 under the presidency of Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen.
