Major Road Renovation Project in Svay Rieng 70% Complete

The renovation of a major 11km major in Svay Rieng province has been 70% completed as of January and is scheduled to be completed in March 2023,​ according to the Ministry for Rural Development. 

Being upgraded to double DBST at 8 metres wide, the road connects NR18 at O’Don Am village to Samyong village in Kampong Rou district.  

The project is part of the third phase of the rural road improvement scheme with a total budget of US$120 million. The entire scheme will build more than 724 km of roads in 10 provinces, including Kampong Cham, Tbong Khmum, Kandal, Kampong Chhnang, Kampong Speu, Takeo. Kampot, Prey Veng, Svay Rieng and Kratie. 

The scheme will be implemented from 2020 to 2025, using concessional financing from the Asian Development Bank, the Export-Import Bank of the Republic of Korea, and the government’s budget. 

Under this project, Svay Rieng province will have four roads renovated with a total length of 57.2 km.
