Techo Santepheap National Hospital Nears Completion, Set to Open in June

The highly anticipated Techo Santepheap National Hospital, a groundbreaking healthcare facility in Cambodia, is nearing completion, with construction progress reaching an impressive 85-90%. The hospital is slated to be finalized by the end of May and is scheduled for inauguration in June 2023.

Dr. Yok Sambath, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Chairman of the Hospital’s Board, provided updates on the construction and equipment installation during her recent visit to the site.

Dr. Sambath stated, “Based on our assessment, Techo Santepheap National Hospital is approximately 85-90% complete, with only about 10-15% of the remaining construction work left. The construction company, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Phnom Penh Capital Hall, is diligently working towards completing the project as planned by the end of May.” These remarks were made during an interview with Fresh News on 9th May 2023.

She further expressed the team’s unwavering commitment to ensuring timely completion of the project, emphasizing that the hospital’s purpose is to provide exceptional healthcare services to the people. Additionally, with Cambodia hosting the upcoming Southeast Asian Games, Techo Santepheap National Hospital will also play a vital role in offering consultations and medical treatment to athletes, visitors, and the local population, particularly those traveling from various provinces to attend the games.

As the largest hospital in Cambodia, Techo Santepheap National Hospital boasts an impressive capacity of over 10,000 beds, surpassing the Khmer-Soviet Friendship Hospital, which opened its doors in February 2022, by tenfold.
