MPWT holds technical training on National Road 2 & Road 22 renovation for young engineers

The Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) held a technical training on the National Road 2 and Road 22 renovations for 10 young engineers to improve their knowledge on how to conduct technical inspections and project site coordination, according to a post on the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) Facebook page on 29 April 2020.

“The technical training for National Road 2 and Road 22 improvement project is to equip young engineers with new knowledge through experience sharing from experienced international speakers. It provides a forum where they can exchange their knowledge through debating and discussing challenges while having a chance to practice on the ground at the same time. This practical training will ensure a high degree of confidence in their daily work performance,” said H.E. Toch Chankosal, Secretary of State at the MPWT.

“A well-functioning and effectively implemented project depends not only on the contractors but also on the responsibility of the project owner (implementation and management project units) and technical consultation companies, who play very crucial roles in closely coordinating and cooperating with contractors to keep the project running as planned toward desirably qualified results,” added Chankosal.

Chankosal told all participants to pay more attention during the training, especially to the experts’ explanations. He also encouraged them to be proactively engaged in the training by sharing their opinions and raising questions.

He also expressed his hope that this training would provide valuable knowledge in enhancing professional capacity to these young engineers so that they can develop themselves as potential human resources for developing the country.
