Land Ministry Speeding Up Work on Land Usage Masterplan in Sihanoukville

The Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning, and Construction (MLMUPC) recently chaired a meeting to review and speed up the progress of land usage planning in Sihanoukville with the aim of boosting the province’s potential..

Held on 27 April via zoom, the meeting focused on the two major areas, including the Sihanoukville download (vision to 2038) and the Boeung Kang Kep development zone.

Secretary of State of the MLMUPC HE Pen Sophal said that the process of the land usage masterplan has been underway for some time and has been going smoothly. The team are now actively working despite the lockdown to make the draft completed as scheduled.

Sihanoukville is one high potential provinces seeing significant growth in the past few years, especially in infrastructure and real estate development. These include the recently completed 34-road renovation project, the ongoing 11-road renovation project, a wastewater treatment plant, the expansion of port and airport, as well as many other private real estate development projects.

Therefore, the land usage plan will hopefully help foster more development, in line with the government’s long-term plan of making Sihanoukville the second Shenzhen city. (Read more)
