Kandal Authority Issues Warning on Shutting Down Unorganised Construction Materials Transport Businesses

The Kandal provincial administration has issued a warning that it will shut down sand, rock, and other construction materials transportation business that were found violating laws and regulations, in particular within the boundaries of Khsach Kandal and Lvea Em districts.

Kandal Province Deputy Governor HE Nop Tara said during a meeting on 18 October that the business of transporting sand, soil, gravel, other construction materials has become a major concern among the public, as they have caused many negative impacts on the environment, the cleanliness of the city, and especially the traffic flow with the community.

“From now on, we want to put an end to these issues. Those business owners who do not comply with the contract and related regulations or are operating business without a valid license, must adjust their behaviours; otherwise, we will shut them down immediately without any excuses or exceptions,” said HE Nop Tara.

“To strengthen this new measurement, related authorities must always identify the drivers of all trucks. If they disobey any regulations, the truck will be seized while the driver will face severe punishment,” he added.
