Oddar Meanchey’s State Land Encroachers Told to Demolish Construction, or Face Legal Action

The Samraong Municipality Administration of Oddar Meanchey province has ordered all the state’s land encroachers in Sangkats Bansay Reak and Samraong to demolish their illegal construction within 10 days starting from 26 October onwards; or otherwise face severe legal action.

The demolition order came after the municipality’s working group observed that some landowners in the above Sangkats had built shelters, shops and awnings that encroached on the public land along the roads.

Besides, some landowners have also filled in the public canals which caused congestion to the waterway system and the city’s esthetics.

Therefore, the administration has called on all landowners to voluntarily dismantle those structures and re-excavate the waterways to their original condition.

After the 10-day deadline, the Samrong Municipality will carry out the demolition work without taking responsibility for the damage, while the owners will also face legal action.
