Japan Helps Modernise Wastewater & Piping Systems in Cambodia

Japan is helping to modernize and enhance the efficiency of wastewater and sewage systems in Cambodia through the Pipe Jacking Method and the WOW to Japan Projects.

The Japanese experts shared know-how as well as the aforementioned technologies in a joint technical workshop between Cambodia and Japan on 25 October, led by HE Ros Vanna, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport.

The workshop was also attended by representatives of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan (MLIT), JICA Cambodia, the Ministry of Environment, Phnom Penh City Hall, Japan Embassy, Japan Wastewater Agency (JS), and other related officers.

The objective of the workshop was to strengthen the development and management of wastewater systems in Cambodia through knowledge sharing from Japanese experts.

According to HE Ros Vanna, Cambodia intends to promote closer cooperation between the government, industry and the private sector, in terms of wastewater management.

During the workshop, HE Ros Vanna encouraged the participants to express their opinions, provide additional input, and especially learn their best from the Japanese experts regarding the new technologies.
