Thailand to Help Set Up Modern Irrigation System in Cambodia

Experts from Thailand have shared know-how knowledge on setting up a modern and effective irrigation system with Cambodian officials and promised to help Cambodia implement the project. 

The matter was on the table for discussion during a 5-day trip of Cambodia’s Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology officials to Thailand on 19-23 December under a program called the National Irrigation Standards Project (NaSDeP). 

The training is organized by the Royal Irrigation Department of Thailand (RID), an institution experienced in the design and implementation of irrigation standards. 

During the meeting, RID shared experiences, challenges, and solutions to national irrigation standards. Cambodia officials also have opportunities to visit several actual sites of irrigation in Thailand. 

The NaSDeP project was launched in March 2022 with the support of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). (Read more)
