New Oddar Meanchey Hospital Building Worth Over US$2m Inaugurated

The new Oddar Meanchey Provincial Referral Hospital building, valued at over US$2 million, was officially inaugurated on 1 March 2023. The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Minister of Health HE Professor Mam Bun Heng.

The hospital’s opening is expected to address the shortage of healthcare facilities and improve the healthcare system in Oddar Meanchey province.

“This new achievement marks an important milestone in providing quality healthcare to the province’s people,” said the minister during the opening ceremony.

The new hospital building covers an area of 32 metres by 42 metres and features 18 well-equipped rooms. Each room is designed to provide three levels of complementary services, including obstetrics, gynaecology, minor surgery, general ailments, care for the elderly and children, and other essential services.

The new building was constructed in just 18 months under the Quality and Health Equity Project (H-EQIP) budget, which allocated US$2,374,227 for the facility’s construction, including the purchase of medical equipment, furniture, and laboratory equipment.

The hospital’s modern facilities and state-of-the-art equipment will significantly enhance the quality of healthcare services provided to patients in the region.
