KOJIMA HOLDINGS Co., Ltd, a Japanese-based company, has expressed interest in investing in the production of ethanol made from cassava using modern technology and equipment in Cambodia. This move is aimed at reducing carbon dioxide emissions in the country.

The company has submitted a proposal for the “Cassava Based-Bio Ethanol Production Plant in Cambodia” to the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. In a formal meeting held on 17 March 2023 with HE Dith Tina, the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, the CEO of KOJIMA HOLDINGS Co.,Ltd, Mr. KOJIMA Masanobu, emphasized the company’s commitment to producing high-quality ethanol from cassava.

HE Dith Tina expressed his optimism about the project and stated that the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries would collaborate with KOJIMA HOLDINGS to find investment partners and encourage farmers and manufacturers to supply cassava that meets Japan’s standard line.

He recommended that the company conduct a thorough study of the cassava price chain in Cambodia, including production costs and factory location.
