Angkor Wat Ticket Sales Skyrocket, Surpassing US$14M in the First Four Months of 2023

Angkor Wat, the crown jewel of Cambodia’s cultural heritage, has witnessed a remarkable surge in ticket sales, signalling a reinvigorated interest from global tourists. Cambodia raked in an astounding US$14,031,206 from the sale of tickets to 298,998 foreign visitors in the first four months of the year, according to a report released by the esteemed Angkor Institute on 1 May 2023.

This staggering revenue reflects a remarkable increase of 937.34% compared to the same period in 2022, underscoring the timeless allure and magnetism of Angkor Wat.

The report further reveals that the month of April 2023 alone contributed significantly to this unprecedented success. Angkor Institute earned an impressive US$2,895,714 from ticket sales to 62,657 foreign tourists, marking a remarkable surge of 439.20% compared to the corresponding period in the previous year. These figures not only speak to the enduring popularity of Angkor Wat but also highlight the efforts to enhance the visitor experience and promote Cambodia’s rich cultural heritage.

To experience the majestic wonders of Angkor, international tourists can choose from various ticket options. The admission fee stands at US$37 per day, US$62 for a three-day pass, and US$72 for a week-long exploration of this architectural marvel. Additionally, the state grants a special privilege to foreigners who reside in Cambodia for two years or more, allowing them to visit Angkor free of charge. (Read more)
