Kampong Speu Authorities Seize Over 57 Hectares of Forest Land in Oral District

Kampong Speu provincial authorities have confiscated more than 57 hectares of forest land in the Oral Mountain Wildlife Sanctuary, marking a significant move against illegal land grabbing. This decision is part of a broader effort in 2024, during which over 1,400 hectares of forest land have been reclaimed as state property. The order was issued on 27 May 2024.

The official order rejects and seizes forest land affected by illegal state land grabbing, targeting two specific areas with a combined total of 57 hectares and 79 acres within the Oral Mountain Wildlife Sanctuary, located in O’Anchachar, Ta Sal commune, Oral district, Kampong Speu province.

Previously, Kampong Speu authorities have taken action to reclaim more than 1,400 hectares of forest land in the Oral district, returning it to state ownership after it was illegally possessed.
