MLMUPC Distributes Over 9,000 Land Titles in Svay Rieng Amid Efforts to Register Nearly 200k Remaining Plots

The Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction (MLMUPC), in collaboration with the Svay Rieng Provincial Administration, has distributed 9,349 land titles to residents in seven villages in Romeas Hek district, Svay Rieng province. Despite this progress, nearly 200,000 land plots in the province remain unregistered. This announcement was made during a ceremony attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of MLMUPC, HE Say Sam Al, on 28 May 2024.

The distribution covers Thmey village, Sando village, Trapeang Smach village, Dak Por village, Prek Romiet village, Khpob Trach village, Chrey Thom commune, and Pramat Pram village, Kampong Trach commune, and Romeas Hek district. An additional 923 plots in these areas are still pending registration.

HE Say Sam Al highlighted the government’s commitment to the “Political Program for Construction and Defence of the Fatherland 2023-2028,” which aims to enhance land management and expedite the completion of land registration processes. The program’s goal is to issue title deeds to all eligible occupants within the current mandate.

Governor of Svay Rieng Province, Mr. Peng Pursa, congratulated the recipients and urged them to safeguard their land documents to improve their livelihoods. He also emphasised the administration’s dedication to accelerating the registration of the remaining 90,000 plots in Romeas Hek district and the additional 184,923 plots across the province to meet the outlined targets.
