Cambodia Partners with US Firm to Build Organic Bran Processing Plant to Boost Exports

Cambodia’s Amru Rice and US-based Stabil Nutrition, LLC have signed a major Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly invest in the development of an organic bran processing plant in Cambodia. The state-of-the-art facility will be equipped with cutting-edge American machinery and technology, significantly enhancing Cambodia’s capacity for organic rice processing.

This landmark agreement was formalized during a ceremony in San Francisco on 23 September 2024, presided over by HE Sun Chanthol, First Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice President of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, alongside Oknha Song Saran, CEO of Amru Rice, and Michael Tarrasch, Representative of Stabil Nutrition.

The strategic collaboration aims to position Cambodia as a leader in organic rice production, strengthening its role in the global rice market and expanding export opportunities, particularly in the United States.

Alongside the plant development, a separate MoU was signed on 22 September between the Cambodian Rice Federation and US company Otis McAllister Inc. to further boost Cambodian rice exports to the US, targeting major retail giants like Costco and Walmart.
