Cambodia and Korea jointly strengthen their capacity to use and preserve cultural heritage

APSARA Authority, in collaboration with the Korean Heritage Agency, has organized a training course to strengthen the use of cultural heritage in Cambodia. The focus of the training is on the conservation of cultural heritage, development of tourism products, and utilization of cultural heritage. This information was published by Radio National of Cambodia on October 8, 2024.

Mr. Long Kosal, Deputy Director General of APSARA Authority, emphasized the significance of this training in conserving the temple and supporting the tourism sector in Angkor, as well as the restoration work of Angkor Wat.

Mr. KIM Hyunsung, Representative of the Korean Heritage Agency, explained that the training also emphasizes the development of local tourism products and the use of Cambodia’s cultural heritage to create valuable cultural and tourist attractions.

Kim Tha, on behalf of the Korean Heritage Agency, expressed the intention to continue collaboration for the conservation and development of Angkor.

The 4-day training course, which took place from October 7 to 10, 2024, aimed to equip participants with knowledge and experience from Korean heritage experts to be applied in their work, especially in tourism development and creating heritage-oriented souvenirs to enhance the local economy.
