Cambodia Launches Export Service Center to Boost International Trade

In a significant move to enhance the country’s export capabilities, the Cambodian Ministry of Commerce has officially inaugurated the Export Service Center (ESC). This new initiative, launched on November 5th, 2024, aims to promote Cambodian products in global markets and empower local traders with the tools they need to succeed internationally.

The inauguration ceremony, held in the capital, was presided over by Lok Chumteav Chamnimol, the Minister of Commerce, and attended by a diverse group of diplomats, officials from various ministries, private sector representatives, and development partners. The atmosphere was optimistic as the ESC was heralded as a vital step towards expanding Cambodia’s export potential.

The ESC has been established in collaboration with the Center for the Promotion of Imports from Developing Countries (CBI). Its primary objective is to enhance the export services available to Cambodian traders, ensuring they are well-prepared to navigate the complexities of international markets. This initiative not only aims to streamline export procedures but also seeks to build traders’ confidence and competitiveness on a global scale.

One of the key features of the Export Service Center is its commitment to training exporters on essential export procedures. The center also offers valuable networking opportunities, allowing businesses to connect with industry experts and potential buyers in their target markets. This comprehensive support is anticipated to invigorate Cambodia’s export landscape and give local businesses a competitive edge.

Business representatives and entrepreneurs eager to explore export opportunities and learn more about the necessary procedures are encouraged to contact the ESC. The center is conveniently located at the Ministry of Commerce and is open during regular office hours. Interested parties can also contact the Ministry through its public telephone system at 1266 or visit https://exportservicecenter.moc.gov.kh for more information.

With its strategic focus on boosting exports, the Export Service Center is a testament to Cambodia’s commitment to advancing its role in global trade and fostering economic growth through international commerce.
