Cambodia to Construct New Kok Thlak Stadium in Kandal Province

The Football Federation of Cambodia (FFC) has announced an ambitious plan to construct a new stadium, the Kok Thlak Stadium, along with its headquarters in Kandal province. The project, which has an estimated cost of USD 4.4 million, underscores the federation’s commitment to enhancing the country’s football infrastructure.

In a press release dated 2 March 2025, the FFC confirmed that the construction followed the endorsement at the 19th General Assembly, where it reviewed the accomplishments of 2024 and outlined objectives for the upcoming year. The project will be financed through a combination of remaining funds from the Goal Project, FIFA Forward 2.0, and FIFA Forward 3.0 initiatives.

Located on land owned by the Football Federation, Kok Thlak Stadium will be situated in Prek Taben village, Prek Anchan commune, Muk Kompo district. The state-of-the-art facility is projected to seat up to 12,000 spectators, with an initial phase designed to accommodate 4,200 fans.

The timeline for construction is set to begin in 2025, following the acquisition of necessary permits and approvals. The FFC aims to officially inaugurate the stadium and its headquarters by the end of 2026, marking a significant milestone for Cambodian football.

This project not only aims to boost sports infrastructure in the region but also to foster local and international events, further elevating Cambodia’s presence in the football community.
