Construction on Dang Kambit Reservoir Dam in Kampong Thom Reaches 52.8%

The Dang Kambit Reservoir Dam in Sre Khsach village, Kampong Thom province, has reached a significant milestone, with 52.8% of construction completed. This progress was confirmed during a recent inspection led by HE Tho Jetha.

Spanning a total length of 2,680 metres, the dam includes various elements: a 1,136-metre left earthen dam, a 306-metre spillway, a 50-metre concrete dam, and a 1,188-metre right earthen dam, designed to rise 40 metres above sea level.

The dam will secure vital water resources for irrigation, benefiting around 25,000 farming families and improving agricultural productivity across multiple districts, including Baray and Sandan. The project, which began on 4 December 2023, is expected to take 48 months to finish and is funded through concessional loans from the Export-Import Bank of China.

As construction continues, updates will be shared to emphasize the project’s critical role in ensuring water security and supporting local communities amidst climate change challenges.
