Bentley Systems engineer successfully recreated the historic Quebec Bridge—the world’s longest cantilever span—in just days using AI-driven workflows.

By integrating AI agents with Bentley’s MicroStation design platform and STAAD structural analysis software, the project showcased a new era of efficiency in infrastructure design.

The breakthrough relies on the MicroStation Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, a tool that allows AI assistants to operate engineering software directly. By connecting familiar AI tools to Bentley’s platform, engineers can translate natural language instructions into precise geometric models, replacing tedious manual drafting with automated, intent-based processes.
