Building Bridges for Investment: Henan Delegation Explores Opportunities in Cambodia’s Construction Sector

The Cambodia Constructors Association (CCA) welcomed a high-level delegation from the Henan and Design Industry Association on 28 November 2024, at Canadia Tower in Phnom Penh. This strategic meeting underscored Cambodia’s growing appeal as a foreign investment hub, focusing on collaboration in the construction and infrastructure sectors.

Acting on behalf of Lok Neak Oknha Pung Kheav Se, Lok Oknha Charles Vann, Acting Chairman of CCA, highlighted Cambodia’s thriving construction landscape. He detailed the latest government policies, infrastructure initiatives, and streamlined investment incentives designed to attract foreign stakeholders.

The meeting provided a robust platform to discuss mutual interests, share best practices in design and construction, and explore opportunities for deeper bilateral cooperation.

The Henan delegation expressed interest in Cambodia’s rapidly evolving infrastructure and construction ecosystem, particularly its strategic location in Southeast Asia, offering seamless access to regional markets. With Cambodia’s economy growing steadily, it remains a preferred destination for investors from China, including Henan province, eager to contribute to and benefit from the country’s dynamic development.

The President of Henan Engineering Survey and Design Industry Association, Mr. Zhang Shouli expressed keen interest in Cambodia’s growing infrastructure demands, particularly in urban development, transportation, and sustainable building practices. Mr. Zhang emphasised their extensive experience in managing large-scale projects and their eagerness to offer technology and expertise to support Cambodia’s ambitious growth plans. Additionally, Mr. Zhang also extended an invitation to the members of the CCA to visit Henan Province to explore the local business environment and discuss opportunities for further collaboration.

Moreover, this gathering reflected Cambodia’s broader strategy to engage with international partners. By facilitating dialogue with foreign associations, Cambodia aims to learn from global best practices while showcasing its potential as a regional hub for engineering and construction.

Networking sessions during the meeting allowed for fruitful discussions about investment opportunities, revealing a strong desire from both sides to establish partnerships that could lead to long-term collaboration.
