Cambodia, China Sign MoU to Strengthen Engineering Education

The Techo Sen Institute of Public Works and Transport of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (TSIPWT) has signed an MoU with the Zhejiang Institute of Communication (ZJIC) of China to enhance the quality of engineering education.

The signing ceremony was held on 24 June under the chairmanship of TSIPWT Director HE Hoeun Samneang.

Through the MoU, the two sides also agreed to exchange curriculum development, professors, researchers, students, information, researches, experiences, culture, among other resources.

HE Hoeun Samneang said that this collaboration will help open up the door for Cambodian students to learn more about new techniques from this prestigious institution.

“The Zhejiang Institute of Communication (ZJIC) was established in 1958. Thus far, the institution has trained plenty of human resources in 40 majors and 9 departments. Thus, this is a rare chance for Cambodian students to absorb both knowledge and experiences,” said HE Hoeun Samneang.

The Minister of Public Works and Transport HE Sun Chanthol recently has also requested China to send experts to Cambodia to help train local engineers so that they are ready for building large-scale infrastructure in the future. (Read more)
