Cambodia Honours Eight Top Cashew Processors of 2024

On 6 June 2024, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) celebrated the winners of the 2024 Best Cashew Processors Competition, awarding eight companies and enterprises for their excellence in cashew processing under the chairmanship of HE Oung Kosal, Secretary of State of MAFF.

The top honours were awarded to companies from various provinces, reflecting the regional diversity and expertise in cashew processing across Cambodia. Leading the list were enterprises from Preah Vihear Province and Mirarth Agri Tech Co. Ltd. from Kampong Thom province, followed by Agg Pradak Cambodia Enterprise, also from Kampong Thom province.

The honorary awards for the best cashew processor in 2024 were presented to Sovan Mujin Agu Enterprise from Kampong Speu province and Veas Joss Enterprise from Banteay Meanchey province. Additionally, Chamkar Leu Leung Manut Cashew Nut Handicraft from Chamkar Leu, Kampong Cham province, secured the first place, 3 Coke Enterprise from Kampong Thom province achieved second place, and Chey Sambo Cashew Handicraft from Kampong Thom province took third place in the competition.

This prestigious competition aimed to identify and reward the best cashew processing enterprises, promoting the development of the cashew sector through technical excellence and market competitiveness. The event, which ran from 9 May to 6 June 2024, saw participation from 20 artisans, highlighting the growing importance of the cashew industry in Cambodia’s agricultural economy.

The initiative underscores the government’s commitment to enhancing the quality and marketability of Cambodian cashew products, fostering innovation, and ensuring sustainable economic growth within the agricultural sector.
