Cambodia to Establish Private Business Centre in Macau to Expand Overseas Markets

The Cambodian Ministry of Commerce is preparing to establish a Cambodian Private Business Centre in Macau to boost overseas markets. This initiative aims to promote the export of Cambodian products and enhance international trade relations. The announcement came following a site inspection by a delegation led by Mr. Seang Thai, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce, on 22-23 July 2024.

During the visit, Mr. Seang Thai met with the President of Hengqin Investment Fund and representatives from two private companies. He emphasised Cambodia’s favourable business environment, investment potential, and special conditions as a least-developed country. He urged these companies to promote and purchase Cambodian agricultural products.

In response, one company expressed interest in establishing a furniture processing facility for export using imported raw materials, while another company committed to exploring the possibility of purchasing products from Cambodia.

The establishment of this business centre is aimed at promoting Cambodian exports, showcasing products, and disseminating information related to Cambodia’s trade, economy, investment, tourism, and culture.
