Cambodia Mines Over 555kg of Gold in 3 Months; 355kg Exported for Purification

Renaissance Minerals (Cambodia) Limited has refined a total of 48 gold bars, or equivalent to approximately 555 kg as of 27 September, after three months of operation in O’Khvav area, Keo Seima district, Mondulkiri province.

A report from the Ministry of Mines and Energy shows that the company has to date exported 34 gold bars, equivalent to 355 kg, to Australia for purification.

HE Eung Dipola, Director General of the General Department of Mineral Resources, Ministry of Mines and Energy, confirmed that the gold mining process of the company is on track as planned.

Renaissance Minerals officially operated its gold mine and refinery in O’Khvav area, Keo Seima district, Mondulkiri province on 21 June 2021. (Read more)

The firm expects to produce 3 tons of gold per year for the first 8 years, with the aim to increase production afterwards.

The gold production is expected to generate an average gross revenue of US$185 million per year, of which Cambodia will also earn US$40 million per year in royalties and taxes.
