Chroy Changva City to See Multi-Million International Convention Centre by 2020

The Overseas Cambodian Investment Corporation (OCIC) has invested more than US$18 million to build a new International Convention Exhibition Centre in Chroy Changva satellite city, according to the company’s management team.

“This new convention centre will have a total area of 30,000 square metres, which is 80 metres wide and 240 metres long. The project is currently being constructed and is expected to be finished by mid-2020,” Mr Touch Samnang, OCIC deputy general director, told Construction & Property Magazine.

“This centre will be multi-purpose; for weddings, as an international convention and exhibition centre, and especially for the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM13) hosted by the Cambodian government in 2020,” he added.

Mr Touch also mentioned that OCIC is developing 110 hectares of land in Chroy Changva city to become a vibrant new commercial centre with an investment of US$3 billion.

This satellite city is connected to the capital Phnom Penh by four bridges including the Cambodia-Japan Friendship bridge, Cambodia-China friendship bridge, the iron bridge, and a new concrete bridge currently under construction. (read more)
