Construction Begins on SHV’s Third Large-Scale Water Treatment Plant

The Sihanoukville Provincial Administration has officially begun construction of the third large-scale water treatment plant, in response to the gradual increase of wastewater due to the growth of commercial and tourism activities.

The groundbreaking ceremony was held on Friday 17 September in the presence of Sihanoukville Governor HE Kouch Chamroeun.

Located in Village 4 of Sangkat 4, the third wastewater treatment plant (PS3) is being built over 1.12 hectares of land and will have the capacity to treat wastewater up to 20,000 cubic metres per day.

Prior to this project, Sihanoukville already has two wastewater treatment plants, which are already successfully operated.

The first wastewater treatment plant (PS1) is located in Village 1 and has a treatment capacity of 5,200 cubic metres per day. The second one is located in Village 4 and has a treatment capacity of 7,200 cubic metres per day.
