The construction of the Techo Peace Museum in Siem Reap province has officially concluded, marking a significant milestone for Cambodia’s historical and cultural landscape. Valued at approximately ¥2,452 million, or roughly $17 million, the project was made possible through grant aid provided by the Government and the people of Japan. This completion was confirmed via the official social media announcement by His Excellency Heng Ratana, Director General of the Cambodian Mine Action Centre (CMAC), on March 2, 2026.

The museum stands as a substantial architectural achievement, featuring a two-story main building measuring 52 meters by 52 meters with a total height of 17 meters. The structure is situated on a foundational plot of 108 meters by 108 meters, providing a total floor area of 4,012 square meters. The entire museum complex is set within a sprawling 14.8-hectare site dedicated to documenting and honoring the journey toward peace.

Developed to support the ongoing mission of CMAC, the facility was constructed by the Japanese firm Sato Kogyo Co., Ltd. The project commenced in early 2024 and concluded with an official building transfer and handover ceremony held on March 2, 2026. This new center is expected to play a vital role in educating future generations about the history of mine action and the enduring value of peace in the region.
