National Road 58 nearly 100% completed

National Road 58—connecting the Plong intersection in Pa-ong village, Kaunkriel commune, Samrong town of Uddar Meanchey to the National Road 5 in Phsar Kandal village, Poipet town of Banteay Menachey—is scheduled to fully complete its consctruction on 10 December 2018, according to the report from the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT).

Constructed by China’s Shanghai Construction Group Co., Ltd and inspected by China’s Guangzhou Wanna Construction Supervision Co., Ltd, the 178.478kilometers long road is constructed by China’s People Republic’s concession loan of around USD122 million and the contribution budget of the Government, said H.E. Sun Chanthol, senior minister and minister of Public Works and Transport.

He found some technical mistakes regarding the construction and have recommended the contractor company and technical advisory firm and related parties improve their technical performance to make sure that the road is built with quality and durability, said the MPWT minister during his technical inspecting tour at the working site on 12 June.
