Construction of Psar Demkor market pedestrian bridge 85% complete

Construction of a pedestrian footbridge at Psar Demkor market’s intersection is 85% complete after construction started in late 2019.

Located the conjunction of Mao Tse Tong Blvd and 336 street in Toul Kork district, this construction of this skywalk began on 28 December 2019 and is expected to take six months to complete.

According to Phnom Penh Municipality, at this stage, the 27-meter long, 3-metre wide steel-structured frame of the bridge has been completed.

The municipality stated that the main objective of this footbridge is to facilitate commuters in crossing roads in safety and to avoid any unexpected traffic accidents.

Besides this bridge, the municipality also plans to build more footbridges across the city, in particular in critical locations such as schools, hospitals, and markets, to enhance commuters’ safety.

Phnom Penh currently has three footbridges, two of which are in front of Chompuvon high school in Por Senchay district, and another at Neang Kong Hing intersection.
