Okhna Pung Kheav Se Leads 74 CCA Members and 133 Companies Organising Cam-International Construction Exhibition

In a spectacular celebration of milestones, the Cambodian Construction Association (CCA) illuminated its 13th anniversary with the grand event, “Summit on Annual Progress Report and Inauguration of Cambodia-International Construction Industry Exhibition.” Held at the prestigious Koh Pich Conference Hall from 6-8 December 2023, the gala was presided over by HE Para Mangol, Secretary of State, representing HE Say Samal, the Minister of Land Management, Urban Planning, and Construction (MLMUPC), alongside Okhna Pung Kheav Se, Chair of CCA, and key figures from both the government and private sectors. The gathering saw the participation of 74 operational members and 133 affiliated companies, totalling 220 influential participants.

Okhna Pung Kheav Se, the esteemed President of the CCA, highlighted the significance of the event, saying, “This platform aims to provide our esteemed CCA members an unparalleled opportunity to engage, present their innovations, and foster collaborations in the dynamic field of modern construction. The occasion set the stage for impactful discussions on industry trends, market developments, investment opportunities, and the dynamics of the construction sector’s supply chain.”

With a double increase in participants compared to the previous year, Chair Kheav Se acknowledged the growing interest and enthusiasm within the industry stating that “The annual exhibition featured 133 companies and 239 exhibition stores, showcasing over 1,000 types of construction and property products and 50 various services. Products and services from both local and international sources, including China, Vietnam, Korea, France, Singapore, Indonesia, Japan, Germany, Russia, Sweden, and India, underscored the global significance of the event.”

In a comprehensive report, Lok Oknha Charles Van, General Treasurer of CCA, outlined the association’s achievements over the past 12 years. He presented a roadmap for future endeavours, focusing on key strategies to elevate Cambodia’s construction sector. These strategies include the following five priorities:

  1. Continue to disseminate information to promote the development of the construction and real estate sector in Cambodia, emphasising the improvement of quality and safety standards in the construction industry.
  2. Facilitate and organise business opportunities to ensure that association members have access to opportunities and favourable locations for their efforts.
  3. Promote the registration of non-member companies to strengthen the overall influence of the association.
  4. Promote cooperation with national and international institutions for global improvement initiatives.
  5. Support the development of the construction and real estate sector in Cambodia under the policies and strategies of the Royal Government to achieve social progress.

Okhna Pung Kheav Se, in his closing remarks, emphasised the pivotal role of CCA members in driving economic recovery and job creation. He urged continued support and collaboration within the association, extending an invitation to non-member companies to join hands in the journey towards prosperity and modernization. The president concluded, “I call on all members to continue supporting and cooperating with the Association, and to encourage non-member companies to register and become an integral part of our thriving community.”
