An Underground car park and a modern shopping mall project commence in the Heart of Phnom Penh

A new era of urban development is set to unfold in the centre of Phnom Penh as EDC Juta (Cambodia) embarks on its groundbreaking underground project in the heart of Phnom Penh. Led by Ms Oknha Chan Sothea, General Director of EDC Juta (Cambodia) Company, this ambitious undertaking encompasses a multi-level car park, a contemporary shopping mall, a luxurious resort, and an array of underground services.

Commencing on July 3, 2023, the project’s construction site has officially opened, marking the beginning of a transformative journey.

Spanning an expansive area of 33,120 square meters, this project site is located on the prime plots of Street 106, 108, and Street 13, 19 in Wat Phnom, Daun Penh, this visionary endeavour promises to redefine the city’s landscape, offering a host of innovative features to benefit residents and businesses alike.

At the forefront of EDC Juta’s vision is the pressing need to alleviate traffic congestion, a challenge faced by many urban centers. By providing a state-of-the-art parking facility with a capacity to accommodate 516 cars, the project aims to streamline transportation and enhance the overall urban experience, according to Ms. Oknha Chan Sothea.

“In addition to its practical benefits, the underground complex will also foster economic growth, offering employment opportunities for local small businesses to thrive within its modern spaces underground,” added Ms Sothea.

HE Khuong Sreng, Governor of the Board of Governors of Phnom Penh, recognizes the significant investment made by EDC Juta (Cambodia) in bringing this transformative project to fruition.

“With its strategic location and exceptional design, this project is poised to redefine urban living in Phnom Penh,” said the capital governor.

As the construction progresses, Phnom Penh is set to witness a remarkable transformation, reflecting a commitment to sustainable urban development and economic growth. With the introduction of this visionary underground project, the city is poised to flourish as a dynamic metropolis that sets new standards for modern living and commerce.
