Angkor Wat Ticket Sales Soar, Generating Over $16M in the First Five Months of 2023

The historical and cultural marvel of Angkor Wat continues to captivate visitors from around the globe, as Cambodia reports a remarkable surge in ticket sales, exceeding $16 million in revenue during the first five months of 2023.

According to the latest report released by the Angkor Institute on June 1, 2023, this staggering figure represents a remarkable 767.42 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

The report highlights the immense popularity of Angkor among international tourists, with May 2023 alone contributing $2,034,623 in revenue from the sale of 45,759 tickets. This notable achievement reflects a substantial 303.84 percent growth compared to May 2022.

In April 2023, the revered Angkor Institute witnessed ticket sales amounting to $2,895,714, as 62,657 foreign tourists embarked on a captivating journey through the ancient temples. These numbers reaffirm Angkor’s unwavering appeal and timeless allure, attracting visitors from all corners of the globe.

Notably, international visitors have the opportunity to explore the majestic Angkor complex by purchasing tickets priced at $37 per day, $62 for a three-day pass, or $72 for a week-long pass. The revenue generated from ticket sales contributes to the preservation and maintenance of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, ensuring its timeless splendor endures for generations to come.
